Podcast Plan
1. Organize and define the format you will use. Review “Competitors” sites for best practices. Summarize these.
· Each episode will be around 10 to 20 minutes long, depending on the amount of information gathered for the episode.
· Each episode will begin with the topic of that specific episode, which will most likely be an issue that women face and how to overcome it. The issues could be political, spiritual, emotional, or societal.
· Either myself or a guest will talk about a personal story that pertains to the issue.
· Will take a look at different perspectives and use critical thinking to relate to the audience as well as teach them something new.
· Reviewed Forbes, (https://www.forbes.com/sites/quora/2017/05/23/seven-elements-you-need-to-create-a-successful-podcast/#64d294ea290a)which talks about consistency, good audio equipment, building an audience, good storytelling, and more.
· Reviewed “Vagina Chronicles” podcast which is a podcast that also discusses women’s issues in today’s society. Has two hosts who often interviews other women to get their point across.
· Be mindful of time. According to Cision, users listen to about 22 minutes of a podcast.
- Create a title and “log-line” that will define your series”
· “Flourishing Female”: An abundance of liberal perspectives, stories, realities, pop-culture, politics, and controversies that explore women’s issues and in return empower women.
- Plan a 10-episode series
i. Women in the Kitchen
· Discuss family structures and how working mothers are still obligated to do most of the household chores and be primary caregivers. Also learn about what it’s like to be a woman who works in a restaurant; Women in restaurants are often targets of sexual harassment and assault.
ii. Sexual Agency
· Defining sexual agency and what it means to be able to define yourself sexually. Take a look at all ends of the spectrum, from asexuality to highly interested in sex. Talk about how to be aware of your own sexual desires without being scared of them. And of course, knowing boundaries and how to ask for consent.
iii. Toxic-Masculinity
· Talk about adverse effects of toxic masculinity in our society and certain gendered language that leaves life-time negative effects. “Boys will be boys” is a phrase that harms all genders, leaving women oppressed and men out of touch with their own feminine energy. Also raise some controversy about what it’s like to date men in the military.
iv. Sugar Daddies
· Discuss the telecommunication sites that allow young women to date older men. Women often mature faster than men, so they crave to be with a more mature soul. Women also crave security and do it to pay off student debt. We shouldn’t shame these women, however it’s important to discuss the dangers of this. It’s not prostitution, but it leaves women equally as powerless and sexually available. These men need to be held accountable when they overstep boundaries, which is likely.
v. Women’s Sexual Health: A Holistic Approach
· Learn about how to take care of your sexual health. Many women suffer from tough periods, endometriosis, miscarriages, HPV, and STI’s. Women should learn about natural approaches to heal themselves. Herbal remedies, vaginal steaming, yoga, and massage therapy can help women heal themselves.
vi. Periods: Learn the Culture
· Periods are a personal and powerful part of a woman’s life. Learn about what’s acceptable and what’s deemed “not” acceptable by society when it comes to menstruation and talking about it. Also take a look at how other cultures handle periods, as well as the 3 billion dollar a year feminine product industry that is unregulated.
vii. Mother Earth
· Discuss how feminine products are bad for our environment. Also, talk about how honoring the Earth and giving back has wonderful benefits to your own well-being. When one appreciates the Earth, they in return appreciate themselves.
viii. Androgyny
· Talk about the modern day woman. What is it like to be a feminine woman who cooks, cleans, and also works as a CEO with tattoos and short hair. Talk about the importance of balancing masculine and feminine energies within all genders.
ix. The Divine Feminine

x. Freedom to Choose
· Many women prefer not to shave, even after being raised in a society where shaving was the norm. This episode will talk about freedom of choice without shame. Many women feel empowered with more clothing, especially in certain religions, while other women feel empowered through movements like “Free the Nipple”. Learn to embrace your own body and do what feels the most comfortable for you.

· Every day, more and more women are looking to break free from the oppressions of society and looking within to empower themselves. Not only with this podcast be informative, but it will entertain and emphasize storytelling. The audience will be able to (1) relate to the stories that are told, (2) learn about new and holistic ways to heal themselves, (3) discover some basics about feminism, (4) explore serious and controversial topics that affect women in society, and (5) uncover their own divine feminine.
6. Describe how your series will be able to compete successfully in the marketplace.
· My series will be able to compete successfully in the marketplace because it will mainly talk about problems that women face currently, as well as touch up about issues in the past. It will be extremely relatable for women, especially those that are mindful, spiritual, and eco-friendly. Although there are other podcasts for women about women, this one will take a more holistic and homeopathic approach so women can work on themselves right from their home. Although it’s geared towards women ages 16+, many husbands, partners, and men eager to learn can benefit from this podcast as well.
